Meet CASA Volunteer Leslie!
At CASA of Southwest Missouri, we are lucky to have dedicated volunteers like Leslie, whose passion for advocacy and commitment to making a difference shine in everything she does.
Currently a full-time graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in English, Leslie balances her studies with work as a graduate teaching assistant and a part-time role at a local award-winning BBQ restaurant. when she’s not busy with school and work, you can find her watching films, reading, or enjoying a good draft beer at a local spot.
Leslie first learned about CASA through Kappa Alpha Theta, whose national philanthropy supports our mission. She always knew she wanted to be involved and after 10 years as a high school teacher, she saw firsthand how important a consistent, supportive adult can be in a child’s life. Now, as a CASA, she embraces the opportunity to focus on once child at a time, offering them stability, guidance, and care.
Her advice to anyone considering becoming a CASA? “Be ready to absorb experiences and stretch your capacity for understanding and compassion but also know that every effort you put in is 100% worth it.”
Thank you Leslie, for your dedication and heart!
