Meet CASA Volunteer Sarah!

For the past 20 years, Sarah Vickers has built a fulfilling life alongside her husband, Sam, and their daughter, Malorie. Their home is filled with love, laughter, and three spoiled hound dogs-Jackson, June, and Cash.

Professionally, Sarah has dedicated two decades to Dale’s Roofing, where she manages human resources and employee benefits. Her role also includes community engagement, which is how she first discovered CASA of Southwest Missouri. After being approached about a potential donation, Sarah took the time to learn more about CASA’s mission and instantly felt a connection.

Inspired by the stories of children whose lives had been transformed by a CASA volunteer, Sarah decided to take the next step. She deeply understood the power of advocacy, having fought to ensure her own daughter received medical care she needed. That experience reinforced just how important it is for every child to have someone in their corner-someone to listen, to support, and to fight for their well-being.

As a CASA volunteer, Sarah finds joy in being there for her assigned child, offering not just guidance but also opportunities to experience new things. Whether it’s a visit to Wonders of Wildlife or simply showing up as a consistent and caring presence, she knows that small moments can make a big impact.

For anyone considering becoming a CASA, Sarah offers simple but powerful advice: “Just do it. You may think you aren’t qualified or don’t have what a child needs-but they just need you. Someone to listen, to care, and to be there without an agenda.”

CASA of Southwest Missouri is grateful for dedicated volunteers like Sarah, who embody the spirit of advocacy and compassion. Her story is a testament to the difference one person can make in a child’s life.
