Meet CASA Volunteer Laura!
We’re excited to shine a spotlight on Laura Klouw, a dedicated CASA volunteer making a difference for children in Christian County.
Laura is married and the proud mom of 25-year-old triplets, plus one very sweet chocolate lab, Maci. Outside of CASA, she serves as the Corporate Director of HR at O’Reilly Hospitality Management. When she isn’t working or volunteering, Laura enjoys staying active with pickleball, skiing, and paddleboarding.
Laura had known about CASA for years, but it was through her colleague and CASA board member, Kristin Marquess, that she decided to learn more and ultimately take the step to become a volunteer advocate. She shared, ” I have always leaned towards organizations that help children in need. I had been looking for a way that I can help others in need and give back to my community, and CASA is such a great organization that looks out for kids in touch situations. Every child needs a voice, and every child needs the opportunity to be seen and heard. I am fortunate to be able to help provide that voice.”
When asked how she feels she has made a difference, Laura reflected: ” It took me a while to figure this out but being that one constant in the life of a child to me is the difference. Just showing up.”
Her advice for anyone considering becoming a CASA? “It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Don’t give up and know that you make a difference.”
Thank you, Laura, for being such a powerful voice for children in foster care. We are grateful for your heart, your time, and your dedication to making sure every child is seen and heard!
