Meet CASA Volunteer Robbin!
Meet Robbin Sawyer!
For 31 years, Robbin Sawyer has shared her life with her husband, Henry, building a family that includes her daughter, Hayley, two stepsons, Daniel and Christopher, and five beloved grandchildren. Professionally, Robbin serves as the Finance/Admin Manager for the Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management, with a long career in administration, accounting, and tax preparation. But beyond her work, she finds peace in reading, Diamond Art crafts, and sitting on the beach, watching the waves roll in.
Robbin first heard about CASA many years ago, but with a demanding job and the responsibilities of raising her daughter, she didn’t have the time to volunteer. However, as life slowed down, she found herself drawn back to the idea of helping children in foster care. She became a CASA volunteer 3.5 years ago, eager to make a difference.
In that time, Robbin has been a guiding force for three children. The first two have since been adopted into loving homes. Her third case, however, touched her deeply. The bond they shared was immediate, and when the child told her he loved her, Robbin knew she was in the right place. Although the case was challenging, seeing the child now thriving in a loving home, excelling in school, and making friends, affirms that every effort was worthwhile.
Robbin encourages others to consider becoming a CASA, advising them to “at least pick one case and see how it goes.” Her dedication has not gone unnoticed; the family from her last case recently expressed their deep gratitude, praising her for going above and beyond.
Robbin Sawyer’s commitment to helping children in foster care exemplifies the profound impact one person can make. CASA is proud to have her as a volunteer.
