Howard head shot

Meet CASA Volunteer, Howard!

This month, we’re excited to spotlight Howard Kitchen, a dedicated CASA volunteer who brings compassion, leadership, and a deep commitment to children and families in Taney County.

Howard is married with three adult children and is a proud grandparent to six grandchildren (ages 6–15). He understands firsthand the importance of family and stability. Professionally, Howard serves as Vice President of Bluegreen Ventures, working in a resort environment at the Hilton Grand Vacations Wilderness Club at Big Cedar on Table Rock Lake. Outside of work, he enjoys long walks in his subdivision, listening to podcasts, and giving back through community leadership as Chairman of the Taney County Planning Commission.

Howard’s journey with CASA began through family—after learning about CASA from his daughter, Nicole, who volunteers in Springdale, Arkansas. When CASA expanded into Taney County, Howard attended one of the very first training classes and stepped forward to serve.

Now on his second CASA assignment, Howard has already seen powerful outcomes. In his first case, the two boys he advocated for were reunified with their mother after she worked incredibly hard to meet her goals. He shared how meaningful it was to witness the collaboration between a dedicated birth mother and a foster parent who was “firm but fair” and maintained open communication—an experience that highlighted how teamwork can truly change a child’s future.

Howard’s advice for anyone considering becoming a CASA?
“Go for it. CASA is structured to offer very informative training to become certified, and local leadership will guide you through the journey of being a CASA with your child.”

We are so grateful for Howard’s heart for service and the difference he continues to make in the lives of children and families.
