Meet CASA Volunteer Cindy!
Meet Cindy Bunn, a dedicated CASA volunteer who shares her home with her husband of 20 years, Cullen, and their 16-year-old son, Roman. A stay-at-home mom and wife, she spends her time enjoying music, concerts, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and volunteering, which has become a meaningful part of her life.
Her journey to becoming a CASA began with conversations with friends who had adopted through the foster care system. Hearing about the positive impact CASAs had on their children planted a seed in her heart. Then one evening, while scrolling through Facebook, she saw a CASA ad pop up. Taking it as a sign, she decided to take the leap and hasn’t looked back since.
With her son growing more independent, she felt the timing was perfect to invest her energy into something impactful. Though still new to the role, she already feels the joy of making a difference in the lives of the girls she advocates for, who are preparing to age out of the foster care system. She hopes her efforts have helped expedite their path forward, but most importantly, she takes pride in giving her time and heart to children who need a constant, reliable presence in their lives.
For anyone considering becoming a CASA, her advice is simple: “DO IT! For years, I felt unqualified, but if you have a couple of hours a month (trust me, you do!) and a heart, you can do it. You’ll be surrounded by love and support from fellow CASA volunteers and supervisors. I’ve made so many wonderful friends through CASA—it’s truly changed my life.”
Thank you, Cindy, for your incredible dedication and for being a beacon of hope for youth in our community!
