Understanding Sensory Needs of Children from Trauma
Tuesday, July 30, 2019 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Library Station N Kansas (Sante Fe Meeting Room)
Description: We will be watching “A Sensory World- Making sense of Sensory Disorders” from The Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development. We will have a discussion of the material to follow. Did you know that 18 out of 20 children who have experienced early trauma, also have some form of sensory processing disorder? We will be helping you understand that sensory issues and trauma go hand in hand. This training will help educate CASA volunteers to advocate for children who struggle with behaviors or their environments in relation to sensory needs. This information will be vital for all CASA volunteers!
